Katre Kalaus
Hello!
I am a counselor in Tallinn who supports people who are struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, addictions, or grief. I also support loved ones of people diagnosed with ADHD who are seeking better understanding, balance, and ways to cope in their daily lives.
On a daily basis, I act as a sales representative for corporate clients and am also a technical manager. at MTÜ Sa Suudad (NGO You can do it). I like to develop myself through various training courses, watch good series and films, and ride a motorcycle in the summer.
For me, the most important thing is a safe and judgment-free space where a person can be truly present - with their thoughts, feelings, and questions.
I believe that change doesn't always start with big decisions. Sometimes it starts with just one honest conversation.
My journey
Becoming a peer counselor has been a natural extension of my own life journey. I have personally dealt with issues of anxiety, addiction, and loss, and I know how difficult it can be to deal with them alone.
It is personal experience that has given me a deeper understanding and empathy. I don't look at you from the sidelines as a "problem", but meet you as a person with your own story, pain and strengths.
My values as a counselor
Freedom of opinion – there are no right or wrong feelings here.
Security – you can speak at your own pace and as much as you are ready.
Humanity – we meet equally, person to person.
Peer counseling is not therapy or a medical service, but a supportive conversation where shared experiences can help you better understand yourself and your situation.
